Stabiplan wants to know what StabiCAD users want
12-11-2010
Last week, Romanian StabiCAD 8 users had the opportunity to meet our software developers face to face, at an event in Brasov.
Although it was not a large meeting, the direct information exchange brought benefits on both sides. The CAD-engineers had the opportunity to have a closer look on how their requests are being implemented in StabiCAD 8. On the other hand our software developers could become more accustomed to what organizing and running a building services project is all about.
It is our intention to organize more of these meetings. For a better knowledge on how our users approach their work, so we can develop a software application that fits needs of the installation engineers in Romania perfectly.
As a conclusion, here are the opinions of some of the engineers who attended this meeting:
"It was a useful meeting and I believe a permanent contact is vital for the development of a software application that is dedicated to the Romanian market. Here is what your advantage would be (and the draftsmen’s alike): being able to recognize the objects, the working schemes, the patterns that they are used to. And then, even when competitive software will show up — good or very good — they would still have a hard time trying to overtake you. Separate workshops might prove to be useful on each discipline: on Heating, Sanitary etc., with the team who develops each module; a more focused work will then be possible on adapting each one to the Romanian drawing styles." Radu Bob - Plan Instal Engineering
"The approached topics were OK and, as I could see, the Stabiplan developers were receptive to the conversation and they took a lot of notes. It is a good sign that they are sensitive to our needs as drawing engineers. My perspective is that such a meeting is a good initiative. For the future it would be interesting to organize the same event for a lager amount of draftsmen." Lucian Cristean - Sifee Action
