In StabiCAD square and round ducts and fittings can be quickly drawn based on most common sizes. The so called 'not specified' manufacturer. But even more userfiendly: an engineer can choose symbols from suppliers products. All kind of information about the specific product range is added to the symbols. Such as size, diameter, material and article number. With that information at hand you can use the bill of material, that StabiCAD derives from the drawing, as your ordering list.

In the newest StabiCAD 8 the products of Lindab, one of Europe's well known air duct manufacturers, is added to the product database. More specific the Lindab Safe product range with circular ducts, fittings, silencers, t-pieces etc. This product range covers a wide field of application within industry-, comfort- and residential ventilation. In special materials or coatings it can also be used in environments with extreme demands on hygiene, such as clean room-, hospital- and food and beverage industries.

Using the up-to-date article databases in StabiCAD 8 ensures reliable information, and therefore a correct drawing. This creates a safe feeling when the engineer wants to calculate standardized systems. In StabiCAD 8 the calculations are incorporated; you do not need an external application to do so. Calculating within StabiCAD 8 is as simple as drawing. Just select from two routes: have StabiCAD 8 dimension, or have StabiCAD 8 check a drawn system with a verification calculation.

Drawing air ducts with StabiCAD
Thanks to the Stabiplan DistributionModel drawing pipesystems and air duct is simple and reliable. First specify the position of the ducts from fixed points such as shafts, recesses and grids. A specific function (the so called 'node solver') will automatically make connections between the duct sections based on the designer’s chosen set-up method. And also automaically position the saddle tubes, T-pieces, air duct splices, air duct fitting pieces, falls, jumps, bends, flexibles, etc.
After that the engineer can automatically generate sections and 3D views by filling in height information and just clicking the button. For the coordination with other installation elements such as drainage and sewer systems, cable ducts and CH systems the drafter has a clear overall picture from different angles.
StabiCAD has created a menu with functions for drawing, dimensioning and changing vent ducts especially for ventilation in housing. The prefabrication of pipe sets is simple with the pos numbering function. This function can also be applied to isometric projections.
